School District 59 contracts with Ceres Food Group to serve hot lunches. Meals are prepared at an off-site kitchen and are transported to each school.
2010-11 Meal Prices:

Community Consolidated School District 59 participates in the National School Lunch Program and is subject to the requirements of this federally assisted program that provides nutritionally balanced meals for all students. Each meal served meets 1/3 of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for elementary and junior high students. No more than 30% of the calories come from fat and less than 10% comes from saturated fat as recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.Children are never forced to eat food that they do not like, however they are always encouraged to try new items. All children participating in the National School Lunch Program must select at least three of five meal components so that their lunch qualifies as a complete meal. The daily menu offers both a meat entrée and a non-meat entrée.
Junior High Ala Carte
Junior highs offer an ala carte menu. The ala carte items are not considered part of the National School Lunch Program and must be purchased at an additional cost. The student's personal meal account can be used to purchase ala carte items.2010-11 Highlights
